Kevin De Bruyne put City ahead after 5 minutes with a nice diagonal shot. He received the ball from Raheem Sterling, who also provided the assist for Ilkay Gundogan’s 0-2. The final score was reached after 25 minutes.
City now have 73 points, 1 more than Liverpool, who beat Watford earlier in the day. Next Sunday, City – Liverpool is on the program.

Brentford humiliates Chelsea
Brentford, who had just been promoted last season, humiliated Chelsea at their own Stamford Bridge. Antonio Rüdiger gave Chelsea the lead shortly after the break with a shot from distance, Ivan Toney equalized shortly afterwards. Eriksen put the visitors at 1-2 by finishing on a counterattack. It was the Dane’s first goal in the Premier League since returning from cardiac arrest during last year’s European Championship. Vitaly Janelt made it 1-3 after an hour, after which Yoane Wissa provided an embarrassing result just before time.

Leicester equal against United in the run-up to duel with PSV
Leicester City have drawn against Manchester United in the run-up to the first game with PSV in the Conference League. It was 1-1 at Old Trafford in Manchester.
Kelechi Iheanacho gave Leicester the lead after an hour with a header, but 3 minutes later Fred equalized again. It was the Brazilian’s 100th game for United, which remains sixth in the Premier League. Number 4 Arsenal has 3 points more and two more matches to go. The top four teams qualify for the Champions League. Leicester is ninth.
At United, which already drew for the ninth time, Cristiano Ronaldo was missing from the selection. The Portuguese star player was not there due to illness.
Leicester will receive PSV in the quarter-finals of the Conference League on Thursday. A week later, the clubs meet in Eindhoven.

Tenth league win in a row for Liverpool
Earlier in the afternoon, Liverpool booked their tenth league win in a row. At its own Anfield, the low-ranking Watford was difficultly beaten: 2-0.
Sadio Mane was on the bench at Liverpool. The attacker had returned late from the international match, in which he reached the World Cup with Senegal at the expense of Egypt. His opponent in that game, Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah, was in the starting lineup. He saw the best opportunities for Watford in the early stages through Samir and Juraj Kucka. Both times goalkeeper Alisson Becker saved.
At the first chance on the other side it was immediately hit. The cross came from the right of Joe Gomez’s foot, after which Diogo Jota passed goalkeeper Ben Foster in the 22nd minute with a header. It was the fourteenth goal of the season for the Portuguese.
Mane replaced Salah in the 69th minute. A violation by Kucka on Jota was punished with a penalty shortly before time after intervention by the VAR. Substitute Fabinho hit the mark: 2-0. Liverpool take the lead from Manchester City, at least for a while. That team will play at Burnley later on Saturday.
