Young PSV and FC Volendam balanced each other on Monday evening in the Kitchen Champion Division. At De Herdgang, the scoreboard indicated a 2-2 final score after more than ninety football. The big man on the Eindhoven side was Maxi Romero, who took care of the entire goal production of his team with two hits. For number two Volendam it was the sixth time in a row that there was a loss of points and the gap with leader FC Emmen is still six points after the 33rd round.
Young PSV – FC Volendam 2-2
The Eindhoven promises appeared in a strong line-up at the kick-off. Richard Ledezma filled in the number 10 position, while Johan Bakayoko and Romero also got a basic place. However, it was the visitors who opened the scoring halfway through the first act. Bilal Ould-Chikh produced a mop shot, to which goalkeeper Maxime Delanghe, who was not clear, had no answer: 0-1. Ten minutes before halftime, Romero scored the equalizer. The attacker reacted alertly to a deep ball and, after an excellent sprint, passed the far out goalkeeper Filip Stankovic. He seemed to be going to score, but then the Volendam closing post knocked out Romero in the sixteen. The Argentinian himself went behind the ball and shot in convincingly.

Ten minutes after the break, Jong PSV had to chase again. This time it was Robert Mühren who scored after a corner by Daryl van Mieghem: 1-2. Four minutes after the new deficit, Romero showed his class again. Ledezma delivered a brilliant through ball with the outside of his foot towards the striker. At full speed, Romero kept calm to pass Stankovic with a subtle marker: 2-2. In the remainder of the game, both teams looked for the winning goal, but it was not found.
Romero came over from Argentina four years ago for an amount of ten million euros, making it the fourth most expensive purchase in PSV’s club history. Immediately after his arrival, the striker suffered a serious injury and was also out for very long periods after that. With only 14 games (5 goals and 3 assists) for PSV 1, he has not yet been able to repay his high price tag.
Young AZ – Roda JC Kerkrade 0-1
Young AZ didn’t take a moment against Roda JC and was initially allowed to thank Beau Reus for keeping his goal empty for a long time. Reus made good saves in the first half on threatening shots from Patrick Pflücke and Xian Emmers and prevented a corner from Plücke from suddenly flying in in the second half. Young AZ had a view of a point, cool gave it away all by itself. Ten minutes before time, Zico Buurmeester played back against Reus, who had stood next to his goal and, despite a sliding, was unable to prevent his teammate’s own goal. 0-1.

Young FC Utrecht – NAC Breda 1-0
Certainly in the first act, NAC was unable to force a breakthrough and the statistics were telling: not a single shot was produced on target. Despite having less ball possession, the Utrecht U23 team created the necessary opportunities. However, the team of coach Darije Kalezic lacked fortune in the completion. After an even second half, it looked as though the game would end in a goalless draw, but nothing could be further from the truth. In the last minute of regular time, Pontus Almqvist gave Julliani Eersteling the only goal of the match: 1-0.
