AC Milan has done what it had to do against Fiorentina in its own San Siro. The Rossoneri were ubiquitous, especially after the break, but it had to wait until the final minutes for the redeeming goal. Milan remains leader even after matchday 35.

Vincenzo Italiano’s Fiorentina is one of the revelations in Serie A this season and is still hoping for a European ticket. So it promised to be another tough game for AC Milan and there was little danger of goal, especially in the first half.

Stefano Pioli had boosted his men during halftime because Milan immediately stepped on the accelerator. Leao and substitute Rebic failed in the finish.

It wasn’t until the last 10 minutes that the roof went off in San Siro. Leao pushed the 1-0 past a hopeless Terracciano. AC Milan will continue to lead after this weekend and will fight another dogged battle with Inter in the coming weeks.
