Is Cristiano Ronaldo playing or not playing? (Sunday 3 pm: Man United – Brighton)

In the Premier League, there are no top matches on the program on the first day of play, but on Sunday the first league game of Manchester United is on the menu and it remains to be seen whether Cristiano Ronaldo is in the starting line-up or not. The Portuguese superstar would like to leave ManU because the club will only be playing in the Europa League this season and not in the Champions League. For the time being, however, a transfer is delayed and that works on CR7’s mood. Last weekend Ronaldo did make his first minutes of play under coach ten Hag, but at halftime he was substituted after which he left the stadium early. To be continued?

De Bruyne looking for first assist for Haaland (Sunday 5.30 pm: West Ham – Man City)

Kevin De Bruyne will also kick off the season with Manchester City on Sunday. The Citizens take on West Ham and have something to put right in their first league game. Last weekend they lost the Community Shield to Liverpool and especially for Erling Haaland it was still a search for automatisms. Is the click with his teammates there now?

Loïs Openda makes official debut in France (Sunday 3 pm: Lens – Brest)

Also on the first day of matches in Ligue 1 there are no toppers on the program. Still one to look forward to: Lens vs Brest. Lois Openda is one of the many young Red Devils who made a transfer this summer. The attacker left Club Brugge for about 10 million euros for the French Lens. During his loan to Vitesse, he quickly found his way to goal, will that also work in Ligue 1?
