Fiorentina, FC Twente’s opponent in the Conference League play-offs, took three points against Cremonese in injury time: 3-2.

Bayern laid the foundation for the win in the first half. After half an hour of play, Jamal Musiala broke the spell by shooting the ball into the long corner after a strong individual action from the edge of the penalty area.

Just before half time, Thomas Müller doubled the lead by deflecting a shot from Joshua Kimmich. In the second half, the German top club remained supreme, but no goals were added.

Wijnaldum and Vilhena make their debut

The team of coach José Mourinho was the better team, especially in the first half, but only one goal was scored. After more than half an hour of play, Bryan Cristante opened the score with a shot from distance.

Moments later, the away team seemed to make the 0-2 with a scrimmage, but addition Paulo Dybala hit the post. Fiorentina narrowly beats PhD student

Fiorentina have started the new Serie A season with a narrow win. FC Twente’s upcoming opponent in the Conference League play-offs won 3-2 on Sunday evening thanks to a goal in injury time from PhD student Cremonese.

After more than half an hour, Fiorentina took the lead again, this time via Luka Jovic. In addition, Gonzalo Escalante received a red card from Cremonese just before half-time. Thanks to a goal by Matteo Bianchetti after the break, the away team still seemed to take a point, but deep in injury time it was still 3-2 for Fiorentina due to the bumbling of Cremonese goalkeeper Ionut Radu.

The first match between Fiorentina and FC Twente in the play-offs of the Conference League is scheduled in Florence on Thursday. The return in Enschede follows a week later.
