After weeks of negotiations, Ajax and Manchester United are close to an agreement on a transfer fee for Antony. Report that, among other things The Telegraph, Sky Sports and The Athletic. The Red Devils saw previous bids of sixty, eighty and ninety million euros being refused by the Ajax board, but according to the aforementioned media, Ajax will now give in with a bid of one hundred million euros including bonuses.

Antony announced in an exclusive interview with transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano that he wanted to leave the Johan Cruijff ArenA. Romano told his YouTube channel that he spoke to Antony to ask him about his feelings. In the video, he cites the 22-year-old winger’s answers to his questions. “In February this year, my agents came to Amsterdam to express my wish to leave Ajax to the club so that I could take on a new challenge,” said Antony, according to Romano.

“In June this year, I interrupted my vacation to inform Ajax’s managers, including the new coach, about my wish to leave, and that they should think about it,” continued Antony. “When I started in Amsterdam, it was a two-season project. During the transfer period, Ajax made a proposal for a new contract. I made it clear one more time that I want to leave Ajax. I ask Ajax to sell me at the highest bid ever for an Eredivisie player.”

Antony then agreed that Ajax has refused several offers from United. “Several bids have come in, but Ajax has refused them all. Ajax is blocking my departure with the argument that it only has five days to find another replacement. I have emphasized since February that I want to leave, so that Ajax still had enough time to get a suitable replacement.”

The Brazilian wing striker missed the match on Sunday, August 21 against Sparta Rotterdam (0-1 win), because according to Alfred Schreuder he could not fully focus on Ajax. He also missed the duel with FC Utrecht this Sunday. The Telegraph reported on Thursday that Antony wants to sign at Old Trafford within 48 hours. The right-wing attacker is now so convinced of a transfer that he sent his management on a house-hunt in Manchester in recent days. The daily added that the contract that Antony can sign at Manchester United is already in place. Antony fully agree with the Mancunians about a huge salary of millions, of which he can insure himself until mid-2027.
